Soul AI provides voice-based AI assistants ("Moses" and "Mina") that you talk to on your phone or computer. These terms and this privacy policy explain how the service works and how your information is handled. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to them.
Terms of Service
The service
Soul AI is a subscription voice assistant. You speak to a persona (Moses or Mina) that can hold a conversation, remember things you share, search the web, set reminders and lists, look at what you show it through your camera or screen, and — if you choose to connect them — control your Spotify playback and read or add events to your Google Calendar. You can switch between Moses and Mina at any time; your memory, notes and lists stay with your account, not with the persona.
Your account
You are responsible for keeping your password secure and for activity under your account. Provide a valid email so you can reset your password and receive account notices. One account is for one person.
Acceptable use
- Use the service for lawful, personal purposes.
- Don't attempt to break, overload, reverse-engineer, or abuse the service or its rate limits.
- Don't use it to generate or pursue illegal, harmful, or abusive content or activity.
Plans and billing
Paid plans are billed through PayPal on a recurring basis until cancelled. Each plan includes monthly limits (voice minutes and deeper-task counts) that reset at the start of each calendar month. You can cancel at any time; access continues through the end of the paid period. A free trial is provided as described at signup.
AI has limits — important
The assistant's responses are generated by AI and may be inaccurate, incomplete, or out of date. Do not rely on Soul AI for professional advice — legal, medical, financial, or otherwise — or for decisions where an error could cause harm. Verify anything important. The voices are AI-generated and are not real people.
Legacy messages
The optional "leave a message" feature lets you store a personal message for one person you designate, to be delivered by email if you stop using your account for an extended period (an inactivity trigger, after we email you advance warnings). It is intended for a personal letter and instructions only — not for passwords, account numbers, or credentials; use a password manager's emergency-access feature for those. Delivery is best-effort and not guaranteed (it depends on email, your recipient's details staying current, and the inactivity trigger), and it is not a will, trust, or any legal instrument, and not a substitute for estate planning or legal advice. Your message is encrypted at rest; your recipient must confirm the name and code-word you set before it is shown. You are responsible for the accuracy of the recipient's details and the lawfulness of what you choose to leave.
No warranty; limitation of liability
The service is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Soul AI is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service. Third-party services (below) are subject to their own terms and availability.
Termination
You may delete your account at any time from within the app (see "Your rights" below). We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.
Changes
We may update these terms; material changes will be reflected by the "last updated" date above. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
Privacy Policy
What we collect
- Account info: your email address and a securely hashed password (we never store your password in plain text).
- Voice and conversation: when you speak, your audio is processed in real time to generate the assistant's response. Brief summaries of what you share are saved as the assistant's "memory" so it can remember context across sessions.
- Conversation transcripts: the written transcript of each conversation is kept for 30 days so you can open a past session in the app and read back what was said. After 30 days it is deleted automatically. You can delete any single conversation — or all of them at once — from the app at any time, and deleting your account removes them too. Deleting a transcript leaves the short summary of that session in the assistant's memory; the summary can be deleted separately.
- Notes the assistant writes for you: when it puts something on your screen to keep — a list, a comparison, a plan, a draft — that note is saved to your account so you can open it again later. Notes are kept until you delete them; there is no automatic expiry. You can delete any note from the app at any time, and deleting your account removes them all. Because a note is your own document rather than something the assistant learned about you, clearing the assistant's memory leaves your notes in place unless you also tick the option to remove them.
- Things you create: lists, reminders/timers, and any facts you ask the assistant to remember.
- Usage: voice minutes and deeper-task counts, used to enforce your plan limits.
- Camera and screen sharing (optional): when you turn on the live camera or share your screen, about one still image per second is sent to Google's AI in real time so the assistant can see what you're showing it. We don't store these images. Sharing stops when you stop it or after ten minutes; the camera also stops when you leave the app. (Screen sharing keeps going while you switch to what you want to show.) A single photo you choose to send is processed by Anthropic's AI and isn't stored either; what the assistant says about it becomes part of the conversation.
- Memory search index: to find related memories when the wording differs, a numerical representation (an "embedding") of each saved memory is created by Google's AI and stored with your account. It contains no text of its own. When you delete a memory, its embedding stops being used immediately and is removed from storage the next time you open the app.
- Mood (optional, off unless you turn it on): if you turn on "Track my mood", one word describing how each conversation seemed (for example "good", "stressed" or "low") is inferred from what you said and saved to your account. This is an automatic guess from words, not an assessment or diagnosis, and it may be wrong. It's used only to show you a private 30-day view and to help the assistant be more attentive. It's never shared with anyone, never included in notifications, and never used for advertising. When mood tracking is off, your mood isn't inferred at all. You can turn it off or delete your mood history at any time from the Mood screen, and clearing the assistant's memory deletes it too.
- Notifications (optional): if you turn on notifications, we store the delivery address your browser gives us for this device and your time zone, so that reminders you set can arrive when the app is closed. Reminders are kept until they're delivered. If you also turn on check-ins, the assistant may send you a short message after a few quiet days, written from the summaries of your recent conversations. Check-ins are written to be discreet, but like any notification they can appear on your lock screen. You can turn either off at any time.
- Connected accounts (optional): if you connect Spotify or Google Calendar, we store the access tokens needed to act on your behalf. You can disconnect them at any time.
How your data is used
Your data is used only to provide the service: to run the assistant, remember your context, enforce plan limits, and bill your subscription. We do not sell your personal data.
Third-party services we rely on
To provide the assistant, some data is shared with the providers that power specific features:
- Google (Gemini): your voice audio and conversation are processed by Google's AI to generate real-time voice responses. Google's AI also writes the short summaries saved as memory (and, if you've turned on mood tracking, the one-word mood reading), creates the memory search index, sees camera and screen images while you share them, and writes check-in messages if you've turned those on.
- Anthropic (Claude): deeper reasoning tasks, web-search answers, and photo understanding are processed by Anthropic's AI.
- Spotify / Google Calendar: only if you connect them, and only to carry out what you ask.
- PayPal: processes subscription payments. We do not receive or store your full payment details.
- Resend: sends transactional email (password resets, account notices).
- Your browser's push service (for example Google, Apple or Mozilla, depending on your device): delivers notifications if you've turned them on. Notification contents are encrypted on the way to your device.
Each provider handles data under its own privacy policy.
Retention
Your data is kept while your account is active. When you delete your account, your account record and all associated data — memory, transcripts, notes, lists, mood readings, the memory search index, notification settings and pending reminders, usage, and any connected-account tokens — are removed from our systems. Routine backups are retained on a short rotating schedule and age out automatically.
Security
Passwords are stored only as bcrypt hashes. Data is served over HTTPS, each account's data is isolated, and access to the server is restricted. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.
Your rights
You can delete your account and all associated data at any time using the "Delete my account" link at the bottom of the app — it's immediate and irreversible. You can also turn mood tracking, notifications and check-ins off at any time, delete your mood history from the Mood screen, and clear the assistant's memory without deleting your account. For any other data request or question, contact us below.
Children
Soul AI is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
